“Doing Me Good” is the 2019 release from the Pete Cornelius Band. Recorded live to tape at Pete’s Elephant Room Studio in St Marys, Tasmania over a few sessions during the colder months of 2018. This album features all original material collected over the years since his triumphant 2013 album, “Groundswell”. The 11 songs have a deep feeling of ease and contentment as Pete continues to find his flow, writing and performing.
“Doing Me Good” also features collaborations with some of Tasmania’s finest musicians, including Claire Anne Taylor, Ange Boxall, Danny Healy and Randal Muir.
Groundswell is a mix of Pete's original material and some tasty covers from some of Pete's favourite songwriters. Groundswell rocks and rolls with a strong New Orleans flavour. Musicians: Pete Cornelius, Henry Nichols, Simon Holmes, Randal Muir, Kelly Ottaway, Susannah Coleman Brown, Don Bates, Paul Williamson, Jeremy Williamson, Lila Meleisia
Tumbleweed is a guitar driven blues rock album with big sounds and bigger songs. Musicians: Pete Cornelius, Henry Nichols, Randal Muir, Jane McArthur, Carmel Claxton, Ian Collard, Kelly Ottaway.
Pete Cornelius has been a working musician since the age of 13. He continues to expand his repertoire and impress his audience with his toneful guitar and soulful vocals. Pete’s style is difficult to describe but is steeped in heartfelt blues, greasy funk & soul with Americana overtones.
His authentic sound and original songwriting is unique to Pete and does not disappoint.
Pete’s skill is recognised internationally. He has a swag of awards and albums and maintains his status as one of Australia’s best guitarists.
The Pete Cornelius Band is nothing less than world class.
